Do you know that a family holiday in Dorset will get you the perfect Dorset holiday for your life forever?

As far as family Dorset holidays are concerned, Dorset is a type of hidden gem that tends to slip under the radar. I mean, when one thinks of a classic British family holiday, they think of Cornwall or the Lake District, do they not? But I can tell you Dorset holidays is a plum pudding of adventure, history, and natural beauty. Dorset holidays has got everything, whether you are an ardent hiker, a fan of history, or simply want somewhere to take the kids and chill out on the beach.

And, to be truthful, a vacation in which you can do all this without the thousands of people? It is the sort of secret most people would like to have Dorset holidays to relax and forget their stress!

Dorset Holidays: A Perfect Mix of Everything

You know how when you go on Dorset holidays, you are sometimes torn between whether to go to the beach, countryside, or do something cultural? Dorset is a bit like that all-you-can-eat buffet of holiday activities- there is something to appeal to all. This is the kicker: And it is not the usual tourist traps. Dorset boasts of a bit of everything, and all this adds to a wonderful family holiday.

Exploring the Best Dorset Towns

There is a lot of history in it, and the combination of quaint shops, old buildings, and a hint of mystery (seriously, there is something about Dorchester that feels like it should be in a historical novel) makes it a fantastic day trip, just less hectic. If you like Thomas Hardy (the famous English novelist), you cannot leave without a visit to Dorchester; the story of a number of his novels took place here, and you can follow the steps of some characters as well.

A History Buff’s Dream: Dorset Places to Visit

Assuming your family is full of castle enthusiasts, and it is, you are going to have a good time. Dorset has among the most magnificent (and at times) creepy castles you will ever find. So, I personally do not know, but it is something magical: to walk around the ancient walls and imagine what has happened in them.

Corfe Castle
The gem of the roll of castles in Dorset. It is a daunting, dumpy, wrought castle on the hill and dipped in history. There is a legend that Corfe Castle witnessed one of the royal betrayals- how dramatic, right? Today, it is a beautiful place to have a family stroll with long-range views for miles. Besides, it is entertaining for children. It just wants to be explored, and you could conveniently occupy a few hours at this place and think about what it used to be like in the medieval era.

Lulworth Castle
The Lulworth Castle is retrofitted and is a property that has a parkland complete with green places to have a picnic with the family or for a short walk. Its interiors are steeped in history and a touch of pomp and circumstance– ideal for any little people who want to dream that they are royalty even just once.

Walks for the Whole Family: Dorset Things to Do

And here, in the same breath, my family and I are similar; it would not seem like a holiday, at least without a glimpse of outdoor adventure. Luckily, the countryside here in Dorset is crying out to be discovered, whether you are hardcore hikers or just want a nice walk with the dog.

The views of the ocean, which the cliffs in this area provide, are jaw-dropping, and this is something that can be enjoyed by people of all age categories. The walks also consist of all age ranges because they are so well done. Kids have a chance to release some of their energy, and you are certain to receive that needed portion of sea air.

And in case you are in the mood for something slightly off the beaten track, visit Hardy Birthplace and Hardy Trail. It is a stroll through the countryside that inspired most of Thomas Hardy’s novels, such as Tess of the d’Urbervilles and Far from the Madding Crowd. It is an excellent idea to merge literature and nature. It is almost as though you can eavesdrop on the Hardy characters in the footsteps of this great writer in the same fields.

Beach Days: The Dorset Holidays Coastline is Calling

All right, castles and country walks-and now we get to the big one, the thing that brings everybody who has a family together–the beach. It is an ideal section of the Jurassic Coast to make a day trip along the coast, exploring sea treasures. It is an amazing place where a family can go to mess around, seek fossils, and educate themselves on the history of the place in prehistoric terms.

Final Thoughts—Explore Your Dorset Holidays

Dorset is so beautifully simple and humble in an unobtrusive way that it is just what family Dorset holidays should be. It can be the past of the castles, the scenery of the beaches, or the number of walking opportunities; you can be sure that you will have a memory-packed trip. This is not the forced feeling that you need to go through, but a feeling that you just found your own little piece of heaven. Next time you and your family are having a getaway, why not avoid the overhyped locations and head down to Dorset holidays? You will not regret it.
